SOUTH BETHANY WOMAN’S CLUB BY-LAWS

ARTICLE I
Name

 
Section 1. This organization shall be named the South Bethany Women’s Club and may be referred to as SBWC.
 
ARTICLE 11
Purpose
 
Section 1. The purpose of the SBWC shall be to engage in and promote an outgrowth of social, cultural, educational and community service activities.
 
ARTICLE III
Membership
 
Section 1. Membership shall be open to all women who share our stated purpose.
 
 
ARTICLE IV
Dues
Section 1. Dues shall be payable in September of each year.  Dues shall be delinquent after December 31 of the current year.  Delinquent members shall receive written notification.
 
ARTICLE V
Election of Officers
 
Section 1. The elected officers shall be President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
 
Section 2. The President shall appoint a nomination committee by March 31st of each year consisting of a chairperson and two members.  This committee shall present a slate of nominees at the following May meeting where nominations may also be made from the floor.  Officers shall be elected at the May meeting and installed at the June meeting.
 
Section 3. The President and the Secretary shall be elected in the even number years for a two-year term.  The Vice-President and the Treasurer shall be elected in the odd numbered years for a two-year term.
 
Section 4. When an elected officer’s position is vacated, the President shall appoint a replacement for the remainder of the term with approval from the Executive Committee.
 
 
ARTICLE VI
Duties of the Elected Officers
 
Section 1. The President shall create an agenda and preside at all regular meetings of the SBWC. The President shall appoint all committees and committee chairs.  The President may serve as an ex-officio member of all committees.
 
Section 2. The Vice President shall, in the absence of the President, perform the duties of said office. The Vice President may attend committee meetings as an advisor.
 
Section 3. The Secretary shall keep meeting minutes and distribute a draft to the membership prior to the next scheduled meeting. The Secretary shall manage SBWC correspondence.
 
Section 4.  The Treasurer shall be responsible for the collection and disbursement of the SBWC funds. The Treasurer shall present a report at all regular meetings
 
 
ARTICLE VII
Standing Committees Duties and Responsibilities
 
Section 1. Community Service -Identify and recommend organizations to receive donations from SBWC via a project or monies.  Responsible for the implementation of projects and presentation to the membership for approval.
 
Section 2. Membership – Maintain an accurate and up to date membership roster.  Responsible for the collection of annual dues. Notify the members when their dues are delinquent.
 
Section 3. Programs – Support and assist with the planning of programs. Endeavor to keep programs on schedule and within stated budgets. 
 
Section 4. Publicity – Report the SBWC news to the membership. Submit club news and announcements to local publications.
 
Section 5. Refreshments – Provide light refreshments for regular SBWC meetings
 
Section 6. Sunshine – Send cards to members in the event of illness, bereavement and milestone events.
 
ARTICLE VIII
The Budget
 
Section 1.  A proposed budget for the Fiscal year July 1-June 30 shall be prepared by the officers and standing committee chairs, and presented to the members for approval at the May meeting.   
 
Section 2. Funds not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100) may be expended at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
 
 
ARTICLE IX
Meetings
 
Section 1.  Regular meetings shall be held on the third Thursday of each month, unless otherwise notified.  No regular meetings shall be held during the months of July and August.
 
Section 2. At least two (2) officers must be present to conduct a regular meeting.
 
Section 3. Executive Committee and standing committee chair meetings shall be held at least twice a year.
 
Section 4. Meeting procedures shall be guided by Robert’s Rules of Order.
